Directions from M5: Leave the motorway at J19 and take the Northern exit signed to Portishead (the A369 Portbury By-pass). Continue on this road for a few miles until you reach the Portishead roundabout, and take the first exit left signed to Clevedon (Portbury Common/Bristol Road). Follow this road past Portishead football club (PAFC) until you reach a mini roundabout with St. Josephs Primary School on the left. Stay left through the next mini roundabout and the immediate next mini roundabout (Clevedon Road). You will now see Portishead Secondary School on the right. Carry on underneath the pedestrian bridge and turn left at the next (third) mini roundabout (Clapton Lane). Continue along this lane taking care over the narrow bridges until you come to the village of Clapton-in-Gordano. The second on the right is Clevedon Lane. The Black Horse is approximately 200 metres along Clevedon Lane on the right
