Situated in a secluded and pleasant
backwater off the Gordano Valley in North Somerset, the
Black Horse Inn originates from a time when, long before
Christopher Columbus is said to have discovered the
Americas, the local pub was the heart and sole of the
village. In more modern times, having changed landlords
only a handful of times during the 20th Century, the
present owners Nick and Jane Evans extend a friendly and
cordial welcome to locals and visitors alike, and
maintain the tradition of well kept beers, ales and
ciders served with simple, tasteful lunchtime fayre. |
Known locally as "The
Kicker" this 14th Century Inn has
changed little in its history; most of its original
features can still be seen to today, a testimony to the
craftsmen of their day. With real ale still
served from a chilled stillage counter inside the bar, a
range of local traditional rough and bright ciders, a
complete tariff of bottled beers and lagers and a comprehensive
list of wines and spirits, the Black Horse Inn is a
unique experience for the discerning drinker; matchless
in its authenticity with nothing of its kind to rival the experience for miles
around in the surrounding area. |
